Dill Pickle Ranch Cheese Ball

Recipe re-make alert! So that amazing dill pickle roll-up dip that we all love that I threw on top of a burger a while back…now I made it into a cheese ball and it’s fabulous! Pretty sure the pickle roll-ups and the dip version is a very mid-western thing. I’ve had people ask me on social media about it, saying they had never heard of it before! If you love pickles you will love it!

Such a great thing to bring to work potlucks or for a holiday party. Quick and easy to make, can be made ahead of time, and transports well too! Serve with your favorite crackers, pretzels, and veggies! Yum!

Dill Pickle Ranch Cheese Ball

Author Laura Doerr

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 packet dry ranch seasoning
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 5 oz dried beef such as Hormel
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles diced
  • 1 tbsp pickle juice
  • crackers and veggies for serving

Instructions

  1. Dice up the dried beef into small pieces. Set about 1/3 of it aside to use as the coating on the outside of the cheese ball.

  2. In a medium bowl combine the cream cheese, ranch seasoning, cheddar cheese, 2/3 of the diced dried beef, pickles, and pickle juice. Stir until well combined.

  3. Form into a round ball. On a flat surface such as a cutting board, coat the cheese ball with the remaining 1/3 of the dried beef. Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour. Serve with crackers, pretzels, and veggies!

Recipe Notes

Some people use ham instead of dried beef, but I really prefer the dried beef. You can find it by the canned tuna and chicken at the grocery sore.
